COUNCIL MEETING IN BRIEF

  • Budget amendment no. 1 to the M49 water budget: a budget amendment was made to cover network maintenance costs.
  • Budget amendment no. 2 to the M49 water budget: funds were released to pay for drinking water network works, a valve and office equipment.
  • Budget amendment no. 3 to the M49 water budget: buying a fuel tank required changes to the budget.
  • Write-offs of unrecoverable amounts 2025: the council approved the list of unrecoverable items sent by the Public Finance Inspector.
  • Dissolution of the fishing syndicate: the Eguelshardt fishing syndicate has not been active (last general meeting on 25/4/1987, no budget voted and no accounting or financial transactions since 2008). This led the Sarreguemines Public Finance Centre to issue a certificate of non-operation and closure dated 12 September 2025. On this basis, the council, meeting on 19 September 2025, asks the Prefect of Moselle to dissolve the Eguelshardt fishing syndicate in accordance with its statutes, and to agree that the municipal budget takes over all its assets and liabilities (there are no liabilities) as shown in the public accounts, a credit balance of €13,394.23.
  • Authorisation to sign the Global Territorial Agreement: the council authorised the mayor to sign the CTG, an agreement that sets out the area's overall strategy for families and how it will be implemented.

RESULTS OF THE FRIENDSHIP BRIOCHE OPERATION

The friendship brioche round raised €861.50. After the baker's bill of €350, €511.50 will be given to the Association d'Aide aux Enfants Inadaptés de la Région de Sarreguemines (association for children with disabilities). Many thanks to the volunteers of our village.

BIRD FLU

Given the spread of cases, Moselle has moved from negligible to moderate risk for highly pathogenic avian influenza: protect your poultry with nets.

HAPPY NEWS

Birth

Honorine was born on 29 September 2025, daughter of Raphaël Bouvet and Julia Abraham. Congratulations to the happy parents.

STUDENT PROJECT

As part of their studies, 3 students from the Agrosciences, Environment, Territory, Landscapes and Forest master's degree in Metz (Diagnosis for Ecosystem Management and Conservation track) will be on placement in the area from 13 October to 30 November and from 1 to 5 December 2025. They will map the peat areas that matter for carbon storage and nature conservation. The aim is to locate and describe peat areas in the Falkensteinerbach valley, from upstream (the municipalities of Eguelshardt, Philippsbourg, Oberbronn and Niederbronn-les-Bains), including its tributaries. This inventory will support future work by the Pays de Bitche Rocks and Peat Bogs National Nature Reserve and the Natura 2000 management of the Haute Moder and tributaries site. They will be walking the valley across our municipal land.

We wanted to let you know about this project so that you and other residents are not surprised to see the students.
