A RENOVATION FULL OF HISTORY

For two years, a building site right next to the school has puzzled the pupils: what is this project? Why is it taking so long? To answer their questions, their teacher H. Clauss invited Patrick Illig, the owner, and Benoît Notar, a craftsman specialised in renovation.
In the morning, the children saw photos of how the work has progressed. In the afternoon, they visited the site.
The pupils love this half-timbered house dating from 1867. Patrick fell for it too and did not hesitate long before buying it, although it had been abandoned for 25 years. On the site, eco-renovation rules: everything is salvaged to rebuild it exactly as it was, from the wooden beams to the "beaver tail" roof tiles. "It respects nature!" the children pointed out. The work should take 6 years in all. Faced with such a giant task, some pupils joked: "They're a bit crazy!".
Besides building techniques, the children took away two great values from this meeting: patience and a taste for hard work. And Patrick whispered to them: "The house is part of the village's history. So it's a bit your house too".
In the same spirit, Patrick would like to host a friendly get-together in his house under renovation, rue de l'Église, on Saturday 22 August from 6pm.
The idea is a potluck: everyone brings what they would like to eat and drink (barbecue, salads, desserts, drinks…). Beer provided.
The event is open to all residents, a chance to spend a good time together in a simple, friendly atmosphere.
Spread the word! Please confirm your attendance with Patrick on 06 03 43 80 75 or Célia on 07 71 11 59 57 by 10 August at the latest.

TOWN HALL CLOSED

Because of the summer holidays, the town hall will be closed from 10 August to 30 August inclusive. Have a lovely summer!
MUNICIPAL REGISTER OF VULNERABLE PEOPLE
The heatwave of the last few weeks led us to reach out to residents to check on the health of people we thought might be isolated. The register of vulnerable people was set up under the Mayor's responsibility, as part of the alert and emergency plan for exceptional risks.
Its purpose is to make it possible, when an alert is triggered, to pay special attention to the people on the register (isolated or fragile people), for example by phoning them. The scheme aims to support and protect the most vulnerable people when needed.
People over 65, or over 60 and unfit for work, and disabled people living at home may be concerned. It could be you, one of your parents, your neighbours or friends.
How to register
If you feel concerned, you can ask the town hall to add you (or one of your relatives) to this named, confidential register.
You can register as a precaution at any time of the year.
Particular attention is paid during and after a risk, depending on each person's needs.
Give your surname, first name, date of birth, address and phone number, and the people close to you to contact in an emergency.
