History
In 1720 the monks rebuilt the barns and the sawmill (which had been destroyed in 1633 during the wars of religion) and entrusted their management to tenant farmers. In 1792 Erbsenthal was nationalised along with all the property of the lords and of the Abbey.

At the beginning of the 19th century, the State sold Erbsenthal to the Creutzer family, who farmed it until 1936, when they handed the property over to the De Dietrich company.

All the buildings were destroyed in the 1939-45 war, except for the magnificent chapel of Notre Dame des Bois, a jewel of our heritage, which welcomes many visitors with the permission of the owner of the estate, Mademoiselle Claude de Pimodan. (Our thanks to her!)

Not far from the chapel, visitors can discover a prehistoric cave 250 m north of the pond's dam, and a Celtic sculpture on a small rock hidden in the undergrowth.
