This loop, waymarked with a green ring, starts at the Étang de Hanau and climbs through the forest to the Erbsenfelsen, an impressive sandstone arch. The way back passes the ruins of Waldeck Castle, whose keep offers a fine view over the forests of the Northern Vosges, not far from Waldeck Pond.
