A WORD FROM THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL

Dear residents of Eguelshardt,

The start of the year is also the time to share with you, through the municipal newsletter, a look back at the past year. With the covid period now behind us, in 2022 we were able to return to a less restricted way of life than in previous years. Thanks to this newfound freedom, local players had the opportunity to express themselves, organise events and showcase their work. The municipality's action followed the same momentum:

  1. Replacement of a valve and a water meter on the main drinking water pipe at the place called "Hochkopf", and similar work on the site of the private school "l'Etoile du matin".
  2. Studies and work towards the "Living School" label: building a dry stone wall, laying out a path paved with cobbles and sandstone, creating additional parking spaces, grassing, and an intergenerational garden to be set up with residents so as to pass on a love of working the soil to our pupils.
  3. Another major project for the municipality, at the study stage before work begins: "conversion of the Presbytery into a classroom and after-school facility". (The first work by municipal staff took place during 2022.)
  4. Work to make access to the ruins of Waldeck Castle safe.
  5. Completion at the end of 2022 of the installation of a mobile phone mast at the place called "Schwadelick" in Waldeck, to improve reception.

Our constant aim is to meet the needs of and provide services for every generation. The identity and richness of rural life lie in knowing how to come together to share. We would also like to thank all the municipal staff for their commitment in enhancing our living environment, welcoming the children in a caring atmosphere and helping residents with their administrative procedures. We also pay tribute to the commitment of all the volunteers who work every day for our village, and to the associations that have distinguished themselves through the richness and quality of their events throughout the year. We wish each and every one of you a good and happy 2023.

Dormant for 2 years due to health restrictions and the unavailability of the village hall, the « Au Fil du Temps » association has resumed its activities. All seniors, young and not so young, are welcome in the Association and can register with the secretary: Daniel Raud – Tel: 0387062276 or 0608600026, email: raud-daniel@orange.fr
